5th Apolda Bodypainting Contest

On Saturday, June 22 in Apolda, Thuringia, the focus was on body painting.

As this colorful activity has not been popular enough in Thuringia so far, Mirko Gerwenat and Michael Kirchner from Apolda have created their own body painting festival.

They have been organizing these events in cooperation with the Apolda brewery for five years now. And it’s not just the number of visits that is increasing. More and more bodypainting artists are also drawn to an event that is simply fun.

The official program of the 5th ABPC

12.00 p.m. – Start of painting
15.00 – Visitors gain access to the festival hall
16.00 – Start of the supporting program on the stage in the festival hall
18.00 – End of Painting
18.30 – Presentation to the jury on stage in the festival hall
followed by a program with a UV party until late into the night.

It’s amazing how well organized the programme was this year. The day flew by.

There was plenty of room for exciting interpretations on the subject of myths, sagas and legends. The jury members were spoiled for choice:

The winners

The decision has been made. And there were a lot of good paints to compare.
The jury watched the models’ demonstrations with great interest. All the paintings wanted to be captured precisely from all sides.
All painting techniques and the theme were to be compared.
After an exhausting jury session, the winners were announced:
