On Saturday the 22nd of June in Apolda in Thuringia all signs stood on Bodypainting.
As this colourful hustle and bustle has not been popular enough in Thuringia, Mirko Gerwenat and Michael Kirchner from Apolda have created their own body painting festival.
For five years now you have been organising these events in cooperation with the Vereinsbrauerei Apolda. And there is not only an increasing number of visits. Also more and more bodypainting artists are attracted to an event that is simply fun.
The official program of the 5.ABPC
12.00 am – Start Painting
15.00 – Visitors have access to the Festhalle
16.00 – Start of the supporting programme on stage in the Festhalle
18.00 – end of painting
18.30 – Presentation in front of the jury on stage in the Festhalle
followed by a program with UV party until late into the night.
It’s amazing how organized the program was this year. The day flew by.

On the subject of myths, legends and legends there was a lot of room for exciting interpretations. The whale’s agony was with the jury members:
Silke Kirchhoff – Bodypainter & owner of the artist Kirchhoff from Meissen
Roger Hassler – Publisher of the airbrush magazine “Step by Step” from Hamburg
Udo Schurr – Surreal Artist & Bodypainting World Champion from Mögglingen
Jörg Düsterwald – exceptional artist & FineArtBodypainting Dewaldo from Hameln
Viola Simon – Face- & Bodypainter from Siegen and winner 2018
Philine Görnandt – LightPaperArt from Apolda
The decision has been made. And a lot of good paints were comparable.
The jury watched the demonstrations of the models with great interest. All paintings wanted to be captured exactly from all sides.
All painting techniques and the theme were comparable.
After an exhausting jury meeting the winners were announced:
Team Julie Böhm @julieboehm_art
Team Yvonne Zonnenberg @yvonne_zonnenberg
Team Daniela Bräutigam @danielabrautigam
Team Senjo Color was there and remembers another colorful meeting of the body painting family.
Thanks to the organizers Mirko and Micha. We’re always happy to be back.
